For me, clay is a vehicle to express intense feelings that capture a moment.

I show this through surface manipulation and creating compositions between my pieces. I explore the relationship between the denseness of clay and gravity. The pieces are sometimes strung together using metal wire.  I see the sculptures as a composition, one note being dependent on the other in order to be heard.

I work with clay in many different ways and a big part of my practice is to teach ceramics. I also work with clay as a rehabilitation form and I am convinced that clay and creativity has the ability to both inspire and serve as healing.
